Upon completing a Frith analysis of the J 'adore Dior commercial of 2011: 

Basic Analysis of the layers of meaning

-Grace Kelly

-French 
-whispering 
-runway 

The Advertisers Intended Meaning:

By wearing this French perfume you will be wearing what models have been wearing for years. You yourself will smell like a model in which case will make you feel like them including the great Marilyn Monroe! 

Cultural or Ideological Meaning: 

-The blacks clothes show a very modern and sleek look 
-the shades on the women show power and a sense of hiding from the paparazzi 
-the women getting laced up into dresses and posing shows their high up model status 
-by including icons such as Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe it puts the modern women wearing this colon on the same status or the same level as them. 
-The lettering in gold shows the price or this colon as well as the fancy outfit
-the runway shows power and popularity of the person wearing this colon
-words in french are sexy and lavish 
-the whispering makes the french more sexy and the item that is being whispered more desirable
-by having the person wearing the product on the runway shows how those that wear this perfume will draw positive attention to ones self due to its scent.
